So I'm a little disappointed that the iphone doesn't support independent drag and drop as this kind of prevents my current linklens interface from operating on it.
Some brave developers have hacked together partially working versions of drag in this google group.
This post about some example code from apple has a good idea about an alternative approach, e.g. using select to specify what you want to move and where to put it:
