It's been suggested to me that Google pays alot for their access to the citation services and is not in a position to provide an API; but who knows, maybe one day.

If you are in an academic setting there is a citation API available through somebody like ISI or Thomson or someone that can be used purely within the academic institution, but I didn't look into it any further ...Sam Josephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10788506730233381803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9148683707845127605.post-91773109829744252452011-05-12T06:33:35.093-07:002011-05-12T06:33:35.093-07:00Hi, just wondering if this project has progressed ...Hi, just wondering if this project has progressed any further. I've been waiting for a Google Scholar API for years and have seen a few attempts to mine the output and construct reference trees and such. Your script might help push those ideas forward. It looks great.myqhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15862820121582558324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9148683707845127605.post-40679753192406694932010-04-20T13:09:49.830-07:002010-04-20T13:09:49.830-07:00Hi Ray, please do use my regular expressions, and ...Hi Ray, please do use my regular expressions, and do post back any improvements you manage to make. I have put this project on a back burner since there doesn't seem much chance of Google releasing an official API. There is a Thomson ISI API for similar data that you can use if your school or organization is subscribed. Of course you might just be interested in the regular expressions. For me they were just part of a bigger project to grab citation data from web services and annotate bibliographies.

Would love to hear more about your project.

CHEERS> SAMSam Josephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10788506730233381803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9148683707845127605.post-2082258031133378452010-04-15T18:55:10.329-07:002010-04-15T18:55:10.329-07:00Ray,

Annoyingly, you'll get an email message every time someone leaves another "me too" comment on the issue, but it pays to be counted.Robert Brewerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05674207800203255484noreply@blogger.com
